Dear Readers:
In the last two years, I've come to think of my site and blog readers as an online family. Many of you asked for a discussion board where they could chat, and that has become expanded into The Ebert Club.
This entire site will remain free. It will not go behind a paywall. You can think of the Club as a bonus. Membership will not be expensive: Just $4.99 for a year's membership.
Membership benefits will center on The Ebert Club Newsletter, which you'll receive every week or so. The newsletter will include special links we want to share, info about valuable and useful websites for movie buffs, contributions from club members like yourself, assorted video clips, treasures from the Ebert archives, and whatever else we find.
There will be a private discussion area for Club members only. This board and the letters will be password-protected.
I will also provide advance notice of Ebertfest tickets going on sale, useful for those who can come, because the festival sells out early every year.
You will be the first to learn of the annual Ebertfest selections. At Ebertfest itself, I'll hold a meet-and-greet for club members.
Marie Haws, the gifted artist and blog regular who has agreed to act as our Club Secretary, has designed an Official Club Membership Card, and our Secret Encryptor and Decoder.
With your membership, you will be helping to support this site.

Thank you,
Roger
